But actually porting the map over and getting it to work would be a nice start. It's the only way people will ever get to play RDR on the PC, especially if there is ever a total conversion mod a la "Vice City Stories PC Edition."Īnd the people complaining about how low quality some of the textures will be, they could always be remastered/remade. I'm kind of surprised that people aren't jumping all over the possibility of bringing the map to GTA V. ![]() Still, I'm not sure if it can be brought to V or not. That's the strange thing though, people were able to bring V's map to IV, and V's map has more shaders and texture blends than IV I think. Apparently RDR did that, just like GTA V. The actual road texture is just a normal road, but you have these other textures and details being layered over it. ![]() From my little understanding of how it works, I'm thinking of how the streets in GTA V have those extra bits of detail - like sand from a dirt road, or cracks and stuff. ![]() Something to do with shaders, layers, and blending. This post, and the rest of Chipsman's posts in the thread should explain why it couldn't be done in GTA IV.
